GOSS Workshop - Encaustic collage on Board (Tue 29 Sept 0930 - 1230)
Join Artist Emmaline James at the GOSS Hub Pop Up Gallery
Studio Address: Corner Cathedral Ave & Marine Tce, Geraldton.
How do our memories shape our connection to place?
In this reflective encaustic collage workshop, participants are invited to create a personal map of their lived experience in Geraldton and the Mid West using beeswax, collage and mixed media on timber panel. Working with layers of wax, photographs, maps, text and found materials, we'll explore how memory, landscape and everyday moments combine to tell the story of who we are and where we belong.
Please bring five personal photographs or photocopies that represent your lived experience of life in Geraldton or the Mid West. They might capture people, places, family, celebrations, the coast, work, gardens or quiet moments (images that hold personal meaning). Together, we'll transform these memories into a richly layered artwork that maps our individual stories while reflecting on what it means to live here in this time, during Geraldton Open Studios & Surrounds 2026.
Suitable for beginners and experienced makers alike, this workshop offers a supportive environment to experiment with encaustic techniques while sharing stories, perspectives and creative space. No previous experience is required, and all encaustic materials and timber panels are supplied.
Please note: Original photographs should not be used, as they will become part of the finished artwork. Photocopies or printed copies are recommended.
Refund Policy - Workshop tickets are non refundable, but life happens. Please reach out if you cant attend and I'll try to accommodate you with a ticket transfer to a future workshop.
